Islandwide confidence driving Day 01

Boring day. 100km of road driven, mostly on the expressways. We were instructed to drive thru and fro the expressways in order to clock the mileage needed. 2 trainees will inter swap the driver's postion within the 4 driving sessions normally after a short break. As for today and tomorrow, i'll be driving in the manual jeep. On monday, i'll be driving in the auto jeep (the one without any windscreen and cover, juz a bare naked jeep). Driving in an auto jeep makes you look more like a soldier but there's a price you'll have to pay - bare the scorching heat from the sun, no air ventilation in your helmet, tolerate with rain drops splashing onto your face when it rains, civilians staring at you and little kids waving at you (especially when camo-ed on). The task of the leading jeep was tiring, I had to keep looking at the mirrors to make sure the convoy was still visible and attached. I had to slow down and speed up in order to facilitate the convoy movement. On top of these, I still had to bear the naggings of the instructor seated beside me (maybe its to perk them up to stay awake. seated and doing nothing on the vehicle for 200km will make them sleep man). I won't blame him for nagging cause trainees won't outwin trainers in any debate. Every reasons they give will revolve around SAFETY. They're always right. Ya-ya.
