First circuit driving practical

Today we were introduced to the circuit. As stated by the training programme, we have to complete 100mins of driving on the circuit per day. For today, we had to negotiate turns along gentle and sharper bends, changing gear from 1->2->3 and 3->2->1, turn while changing gears, observing basic traffic rules (highway codes), applying of brakes and lastly, to keep ourselves relax while driving. When i first mounted the jeep today, i was not with a relax mind. As expected, i screwed up for the first 15mins or so (instructor lectured me abit). I did not release the clutch, change gear, stop and move off at the appropriate time :( Luckily after calming myself down and forcing myself to get familiarised to those movements, my driving finally got smoother. I was able to perform those techniques at ease albeit a few minor mistakes here and there. I gained confidence and felt better. I have greater faith in myself !

Before circuit driving, we were to familiarise ourselves with the reverse gear. We were made to drive the jeep forward and backward for a short distance. Throughout our pratice, the instructor was not seated in the jeep, he just sat at the training shed and 'rot' his time away. Haha ! No one to guide and correct our mistakes!

Tomorrow, we will be driving using the simulator at Kaki Bukit Camp. We were told not to expect anything fun as most of us will definately suffer from motion sickness inflicted from the simulated drive. Apart from simulator lesson, boring theory lessons ON as usual. Sigh!
