27 hours more and i'll be in Changi Airport for a dreadful trip to Thailand for EX Sapperstar. Actually i've got 2 choices. Either i stay in camp and do duties (COS and GUARD) or head up to Thailand with the majority of my platoon. I chose not to stay back. I hope Murphy's law won't come true when we're up there in Thailand. Many mixed feelings in my platoon for this trip as as usual, Staff.T holds the carte blanche and we're just 'peanuts' compared to his 'superiority'. It has been a long 5 years since he last stepped in Khanchanaburi's soil and we can all see that he's pretty nervous about it and he has done alot of things which seems like carrying coals to Newcastle. Actually there's no raison d'être for us to be in Thailand as this trip was meant for charlie coy's ETEC (etap?). Thanks to our previous S2 for initiating this training trip for our platoon. :| Controlled canteen breaks and abstinence from mobile S4(s) are just some of the minor things that are awaiting us and the future is not ours to make.Up till now, i still don't know why polo-tee is de rigueur for this trip. With reasons such as "putting on collar-less shirt will spoil the SAF image" and "tee-shirts are for kids", i don't know why SAF regulars are still confined to this unlogical logic. Haiz, just bear with it and endure the last 6 months or so of service, c'est la vie i guess.
